All the wines here have been picked and come highly recommended by the Vintage by Saga staff. Our knowledge and taste buds are well trained so you can be sure that you're in for a treat. We've chosen a Spanish Tempranillo with bramble fruit flavours and hints of chocolate as well as a chart-topping Aussie Shiraz from Beneficio, perfect for showing off right now but equally equipped to keep in the cellar to let its flavours shine. In the whites, you'll find a classic Italian Pinot Grigio that pairs beautifully with plenty of dishes from seafood pasta to mildly spiced Asian cuisine, or try the Ovington's old-vine Rhône-inspired blend next to roast chicken with thyme or a creamy butternut risotto. All this and plenty more, so good they're bound to be on your favourites list in no time!

There are few more dramatic vineyard sites than those of Mendoza. The name of this Malbec (Sun & Earth) reflects the fabulous volcanic vineyards and extraordinary sunlight quality that the Andes gifts this wine. The altitude of the vineyards brings clarity of light, water (from snow melt) and clean air, and moderates the high temperatures. This creates the perfect conditions for this wine to showcase concentrated fruit along with exceptional elegance and freshness.

These high-altitude vineyards have a unique feature that many others cannot boast. It's not uncommon to hear the screech of an eagle that can be seen soaring above the vines, searching for prey. The altitude here gives a freshness to an otherwise dark-fruited Tempranillo with hints of chocolate and spice. It's an ideal red to drink on a cool evening, but stands up very well to stews and casseroles too.

It's not often you can describe a wine as 'having the lot' but our Beneficio Cellar Reserve Shiraz quite simply does. It is bursting with blackcurrant and damson luxuriance, with a spicy, perfumed finish that goes on until the end of time. It's a wine that pulls no punches and is as full bodied as it gets. A match for any grilled meats, especially charred lamb chops and an assortment of roasted veggies. A truly dazzling, vibrant Shiraz that'll leave you wanting more, more, more.

The rise of Pinot Grigio within the wine world has been mind-blowing. It now holds a lofty position in terms of sales and people's preference when buying whites. This is a wine quite literally suitable for all occasions. Our Ali di Api is up there with the best and its rise to stardom is about style and simplicity. There's crispness and freshness to the flavour profile, reminiscent of freshly picked pears and green apples from English orchards, nestled beside fine Sicilian lemon citrus. Just delicious, and it leaves its drinkers hankering for more.

The origin of this charming label lies with a few Gloucester Old Spots from 2007. Winemaker Steve Grimley is the keeper of the exponentially reproducing troupe of the swine that gave us the 16 Little Black Pigs label. Their enthusiasm to supply him with top-quality meat is matched only by his drive to supply us with great wine - like this one. With exuberantly fresh citrus fruit at its heart, crunchy acidity and long, lively finish.

This is exactly as a Vinho Verde should be. In abundance it has fresh herbal notes and is intensely limey with undercurrents of tropical melon thanks to the Portuguese sunshine. It's great when a wine has this level of intensity but maintains a moreish delicacy too. And this Vinho Verde does exactly that, giving it the ability to steal the show at aperitif time and holding its own throughout the first course too.
