There are some pretty big and robust reds from the Veneto region in northern Italy. And you'll often find Bardolino in that very style. But the aim of the Ca' Vegar is to express varietal character in a pure, clean and elegant way. It has a really nice weight on the palate that suits its freshness perfectly - fresh strawberries and raspberries with a light and deft structure on the palate.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Chiara Cattaneo
After graduating from the University of Milan in 1997, Chiara started working as a winemaker with Antinori. She worked at the headquarters in San Casciano Val di Pesa (Florence), where she held the role of coordinator winemaker. In 2012, she became the production manager of the Antinori winery in Chianti Classic before joining Gruppo Italiano Vini in 2015 at the Bolla cellar as a winemaker. In 2023, she began collaborating with Vitevis, and from 2025 she will be in Castelnuovo del Garda.
