Region:Rhône - Châteauneuf-du-Pape
This exceptional white Châteauneuf comes from a 5-hectare site, dedicated to white varieties, with the star Roussanne sourced from a single, carefully selected plot of vines over 40 years old. Rooted in clay and chalk soils blanketed by pebbles, these vines naturally produce low yields, resulting in greater concentration and depth of flavour. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with meticulous sorting to ensure only the best fruit is selected. A rich and textured white, with notes of stone fruit, savoury oak and a lively, fresh, engaging finish.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Alex Favier
At the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Chante Cigale stands as one of the appellation's benchmark estates, guided by the passion and precision of Alex Favier. Continuing his family's long winemaking tradition, Alex focuses on expressing the character of the vineyards through careful selection and minimal intervention, allowing the terroir to take centre stage.
"A blend of 70% Roussanne 30% Grenache Blanc, with honeyed stone fruits, white flowers, and a touch of warm spice. In the cellar Alex, in his words, simply shapes the texture, preserving freshness while letting its natural richness unfold." - Dave Roberts, Wine Buyer.
