The Wine The Wine
USA
Region:California - Sonoma
According to Paul Hobbs, each vineyard has its own story to tell. It is this philosophy that has catapulted him to the top of the charts for his winemaking in California. With meticulous care and attention to detail, this Pinot Noir is hand-harvested at its peak ripeness to maintain its fresh yet concentrated dark fruit aromas. With a few months followed in a small percentage of new oak, Paul Hobbs has worked his magic to create a wine with the perfect balance of purity, richness and elegance.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Paul Hobbs
Paul Hobbs grew up on a working farm in upstate New York. His father would test him by taste on which apples came from which orchard. This enlightened Paul to the diversity of flavours and textures available from different sites, which would later influence his approach to winemaking. Paul has honed this skill that he acquired as a child and is now famous for having the ability to identify exceptional vineyards. He founded Paul Hobbs Winery in 1991 and he now shares his time with Vina Cobos in Argentina.
"This vintage showcases estate-grown fruit, selected for its purity and elegance. Deep ruby in hue, it offers aromas of pomegranate, cherry, and black tea with notes of boysenberry, bergamot, and sage. The wine's vibrant tension and a satisfying grip carry through the juicy palate with an intriguing hint of crunchy sea salt. A bright acidity adds freshness to the long, pure finish." - Paul Hobbs, Winemaker.
