The Winemaker

Pieter Carstens
Winemaker:

Pieter Carstens

Pieter Carstens is a passionate South African winemaker known for crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines. Combining traditional methods with modern innovation, Pieter focuses on balance and purity of flavour. His meticulous approach from vineyard to cellar ensures wines of exceptional quality and character.

"In the winery we don't overwork the wine once it is in the vat, only taking wine from the bottom and putting it back over the cap of skins twice a day, at most, leaving the wine to gently extract colour, tannins and character from the skins. The result is a very well-balanced wine that is supple and juicy with a long, balanced finish." - Pieter Carstens, Winemaker.
