Nestled amongst the hills of Crete sits the Douloufakis family winery. Now on their third generation of winemakers, they are pioneering themselves as producers of exceptional quality wine from local varieties. This wine made from the local Vidiano grape shows exactly what the team are capable of. Expect a wonderfully crisp yet textural white bursting with ripe stone fruit, nectarine and a touch of camomile. Serve chilled as an aperitif or alongside your favourite spicy dishes.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Nikos Douloufakis
The tradition and history of the Douloufakis family in vineyard cultivation and production started in 1930 when grandfather Dimitris Douloufakis first established a professional winery in the village of Dafnes in Crete. Today the business is continued by Dimitris' grandson, Nikos Douloufakis, who having studied oenology at Alba in Italy, has renewed the production of superior quality wines from his own vineyards.
"Vidiano is often hidden in blends of different varieties but we knew we had to put this grape front and centre to show everyone how great this grape really is!" - Nikos Douloufakis, Winemaker.
