Gaintza Txakoli is a bright, authentic expression of the beautiful Basque coast. Grown in coastal vineyards and crafted with care, this 100% Hondarrabi Zuri wine is light, zesty, and refreshingly original. With delicate bubbles, crisp citrus notes and hints of green apple, it's a celebration of simplicity and nature's purity. Sustainably farmed and aged on lees, it offers complexity with a breezy finish that lingers. Whether shared among friends or paired with your favourite seafood or sushi, Gaintza Txakolina brings a burst of Atlantic freshness to every moment. Pour a glass, take a sip, and taste tradition reimagined.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
The Lazkano Family
For four generations, the Lazkano family has crafted Txakoli on Spain's cool Basque coast. What began with José Antonio making wine at home grew into the Gaintza winery, founded in 1923. Deeply rooted in tradition, the family balances respect for their land with modern winemaking techniques. Their 25 hectares of vineyards, cooled by the Cantabrian Sea, are planted mainly with the native Hondarribi Zuri grape. Gaintza wines reflect the Lazkano family's heritage, innovation and commitment to quality.
"Txakolina is a sociable, approachable wine whose bright simplicity and unique character appeal to both experts and casual drinkers alike. Best served chilled at 8–10°C, it pairs beautifully with appetisers, seafood, fish, white meats, grilled vegetable, and Japanese cuisine." - The Lazkano Family, Winemakers.
